Our newest Self-Guided Village-to-Village tour. Located in the adjacent valley from our highly successful 5 Resort Hike, the Val D’Herens begins at the head of the Arolla Glacier and extends for 20 miles through lush, larch forests and shimmering blue lakes surrounded by spectacular peaks.

This is where the black Herens cow – used in local fighting contests like wrestling – is bred.  The centuries-old preserved villages will convince you that time had stood still in this part of the world.  Arrive any day of the week from June 23 - September 30.

Difficulty:  5 hours average hiking time per day.
